FREEDOM
OF
EXPRESSION PROJECT
ABOUT US
Launched in 2022, the Freedom of Expression (FOE) Project is a biennial public arts and culture initiative co-founded by Iowa-based artist, advocate, and mentor Jill Wells and Midwest arts and accessibility leader Katie Flippen. FOE champions the full participation of individuals of all abilities in all aspects of life through the arts. By providing an inclusive platform for creative expression, FOE amplifies the voices of artists of all abilities and fosters greater public understanding of accessibility, inclusion, and the fundamental right to freedom of expression. Through multidisciplinary collaboration, collective mentorship, public exhibitions, and community engagement, FOE is building a more equitable, expressive, and inspired arts landscape.
