WHAT IF expressing yourself could unlock creativity and connection? Welcome to the Freedom of Expression (FOE) Project, where art brings us together, sparks change and creates spaces for everyone to be heard. Art is the ultimate connector, a universal language, and we're on a mission to create spaces where everyone can share their voice and spark some profound change.

In 2022, I teamed up with my good friend Katie Flippen (who is the definition of "advocate for social change") to launch this wild ride. Together, we're proving that creativity knows no bounds—whether you're a pro artist or doodling on the back of a napkin, your voice matters. Seriously, it does.

What's Coming in 2025?

Brace yourself—2025 is going to be a big year. One of our most exciting projects is an adaptive fashion runway show! Think fashion with no limits. We're mixing style, function, and universal design for all abilities and needs so you can look fabulous and feel great. Iowa-based fashion designer Nik Star Designs is teaming up with two of the 2025 FOE Project artists to bring luxury custom wear to the runway! I can't wait to see what our models (and their clothes) can do!

Meet the 2025 Artists

This year, we're teaming up with some seriously talented Iowa-based artists. From painting to performance, these folks show us true creative freedom. These artists are ready to shake things up and give us a new way to experience the world.

It's All About Community

The FOE Project isn't just about art—it's about community. We've partnered with amazing organizations like the Greater Des Moines Public Arts Foundation, the Des Moines Art Center, Mainframe Studios, Iowa Department for the Blind, Mosaic in Central Iowa, and the AXA Mentorship Program to ensure that art is accessible to everyone. We are also collaborating with The Healthy Project on a series of artist podcasts to pump up the volume truly. Trust me, when we say everyone's invited, we mean it.
